Originally from Berthoud, Colorado, Julie graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environmental Chemistry and then attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her training at the U of MN Rural Family Medicine Residency Program in Mankato.
Since completing her training, Julie has been an active member in the American Academy of Family Physicians, holding many appointments, and recently serving as the MN Chapter President. Nationally, she serves as a MN Delegate to the AAFP and is a member of the Commission on Governmental Advocacy. She also serves as Vice President of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation.
Closer to home, Dr. Anderson has been involved with Project Brainsafe, a community based initiative to improve awareness and management of concussions. Most recently, she has been working with her local city council to raise the purchase age of tobacco to 21. Dr. Anderson was recognized by the city of Saint Cloud in 2013 with the 5 Under 40 Award and has been acknowledged as a “Best of Central Minnesota Family Physician” for the past 3 years.
Dr. Anderson regularly trains medical students and speaks to family medicine residents across the state on advocacy. She also enjoys lecturing to local high schools and staff about concussion prevention and media impact on health. She regularly contributes to her local paper on health related topics and speaks at community events on a wide range of health issues.
In addition to caring for the health needs of patients of all ages, she has specialized training in dermatologic procedures and concussions. She started Simplicity Health in order to provide efficient, price transparent, and high quality primary care services to her patients.
When Julie is not seeing patients, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Brad, and two sons.
Kalina Skillingstad is a certified physician assistant. In partnering with Dr. Anderson, she aims to re-establish trust in the patient-provider relationship by providing transparency, thorough diagnostics and a simple yet “whole-person” approach to medicine.
Kalina graduated from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD with a bachelors degree in International Studies/Biology/Chemistry. She received early acceptance to Union College Lincoln, NE where she graduated with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. After graduating, she joined St Cloud Medical Group where she worked in Express Care until accepting a position with Stellis Health in 2017, where she maintains a position in Urgent Care servicing the Monticello and Buffalo communities.
Kalina’s medical interests include minor dermatologic and other procedural medicine, internal medicine and aesthetics. She holds certification for Botox and dermal filler injections and has particular interest in non-surgical facial rejuvenation to enhance personal confidence.
Away from simplicity, you may find her enjoying the aesthetics of interior design. She also enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband Ryan and adoring her two children, attending church functions and traveling, particularly to Guatemala where she has family.
A Minnesota native, Margaret has lived and worked in North Dakota, Ohio and Iowa before returning home and settling in Central Minnesota. She has a background in family medicine including internal medicine, acute illness, and minor injuries. She has additional training and interest in chronic medical conditions like Diabetes. Margaret graduated with her BSN from Moorhead State University and went on to her Physician Assistant from the University of North Dakota. She has been practicing in St. Cloud since 1999. Margaret enjoys hiking, camping and cross-country skiing with her husband as well as any time spent with her grandchildren.
Megan is originally from Hibbing, MN. She graduated from Saint Cloud Technical and Community College in 2014 with her associate’s degree in nursing. She began her career in long-term care and dementia prior to starting as a family practice nurse. Megan Joined simplicity health to provide personal and quality care to all of her patients. In addition to caring for our patients, she enjoys spending time outside and at the lake with her husband and three children.
Kacey is 24 years old and grew up in St. Cloud. She currently lives in Foley, MN with her fiance, 2 cats, and a dog. When Kacey is not working, she loves to bake and craft. She also loves to travel, watch movies, and spend time with her family.
Mandy has been in the medical field for more than 6 years now. She graduated from the St. Cloud Technical and Community College in 2005 with a Dental Assisting Degree and then again in 2010 with a Sales and Management Degree. Mandy loves doing anything outdoors as long as she is with her Husband, their son, and their two dogs. She also enjoys reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Karen is our talented front desk Receptionist. She has worked with Dr. Anderson for the past 5 years and is thrilled to be part of this team! Her goal is to provide personal, simple and inspired Healthcare to each and every one of Simplicity Health’s patients. Karen’s educational/work background includes Nursing Assistant, Group Home Management, and Preschool Education. When not at work she is a very involved, proud Grandma of 6 and enjoys the outdoors and travel. She is looking forward to partnering with you, our Patient, to meet all of your Healthcare needs.
Amanda is one of our front desk receptionists. Her educational and work background includes Dental Assistant, Nursing Assistant and Medical Billing. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her children, cooking, and traveling.
